Cadaveric Interventional Pain Management

 

Course Overview: Join us for a cadaveric hands on session on fluoroscopy guided interventional pain management for chronic pain. Cadavers are best simulators known. The workshop will provide all participants an opportunity to practise these procedures on cadavers.

The course objectives are:
1. To understand fluroanatomy of head-neck and lumbar spine
2. Demonstration of needle placement for various blocks
3. Hands on session for all the participants
4. Trouble shooting and discussions with experts

Target Audience: Interventional pain specialists, Anaesthesiologists

Power point presentations, demonstration by expert followed by hands on session on following procedures

Head and Neck:
Trigeminal Neuralgia
Sphenopalatine ganglion block
Stellate ganglion block
Cervical epidural
Cervical medial branch block

Lumbar:
Lumbar epidural
Transforaminal block
Facet/median branch block
Lumbar sympathetic block
Intradiscal procedures
Pelvic procedures
Caudal epidural
Sacroiliac joint
Superior hypogastric
Ganglion impar

Basic interventional pain procedures

09:00-09:10 : Trigeminal Ganglion ablation
09:11-09:20 : Fluro-anatomy of cervical spine (From cadaveric image)
09:21-09:30 : Stellate ganglion block
09:31-09:40 : Cervical epidural injection
09:41-09:50 : Fluro-anatomy of Lumbar spine (From cadaveric image)
09:51-10:00 : Lumbar epidural injection
10:01-10:10 : Lumbar Transforaminal block
10:11-10:20 : Lumbar facet/ medial branch block
10:21-10:30 : Lumbar sympathetic block
10:31-10:40 : Caudal epidural block
10:41-10:50 : Sacroiliac joint block

Cadaver 1: Head and Neck Procedures: Trigeminal ganglion block/Stellate ganglion block/ Cervical epidural

Cadaver 2: Lumbar procedures : Epidural injections/transforaminal/lumbar sympathetic block

Cadaver 3: Pelvic procedures : Caudal block/ sacroiliac joint block

Lunch Break: 12:30-1:30 pm
